Some coincidence that my son Snehal and Uki’s son Amit were Mech Engg classmates at the Bharti Vidyapeeth CoE at Pune. Even his messages on the group WhatsApp were nice to read and enjoy. I remember him as someone who was always smiling and jovial. I was shocked to learn about the passing away of Ramesh Ukidve. Ramesh Ukidve aka Uki was a H5 mate for many years. I am speechless and can't express my deepest feelings. I was with him till the end of our IIT days and very very close in all activities at IIT day & night. I saw Uki for the first time in H5 taking out the key attached to a sacred thread to open his room lock in 1966. Mercifully, he did not suffer much, she said. He expressed a desire to spend his last days at home, so they brought him home yesterday. She said that Uki was admitted into Hospital on March 9. He told me that Uki passed away due to Colon Cancer. I learnt of his untimely demise from Chirputkar, an IITBian Mech 1972 H4 who sent this sad message on the IITBAA Pune Chapter group.
