I'm going to give it a try and will report back. I enter the sales tax liability in QB and later match the payment with the withdrawl from checking. Sales tax in QB isn't that good, so I let Shopify handle the sales tax collected and then I file a quarterly (now monthly) sales tax report directly on my state's dept of revenue website. Then bring the inventory valuation to QB with a journal entry to enter your purchases, sales, and cogs. Once a month do a physical inventory count and make adjustments in Shopify. Bonus is you can use your apple device or any other device with QBO Sign up for Shopify merchant account to process your sales.įor this type of sophisticated ecommerce, I suggest QB Online. You will require the regular $79/mo Shopify plan (not the el cheapo $29 plan) to access the COGS inventory reports. Do not track ecommerce inventory in QB, it's just not going to end well if you do. For ecommerce, I recommend you switch to Shopify immediately and use it for tracking your inventory.
